Welcome to the Friends of the Hartford Library! We are a group dedicated to our wonderful library's wellness and advancing its mission through advocating, programming, promoting, and "fun"raising. We sponsor free programs for the public and provide monetary support such as giving to the library's Summer Reading Program and the efforts to install a new sound system in the Community Room. Since 2008, the Friends of the Hartford Library has supported and funded public library programs and services to help supplement city appropriations. As a 501(c)(3) organization, all donations are tax-deductible. By joining the Friends, you help advance our mission of advocating, promoting, and raising funds for the support of Jack Russell Memorial Library.

Volunteers are integral to our organization, however, choosing to volunteer is optional. By becoming a member, you are supporting our group.
If you choose to volunteer, whether it’s an hour or several hours, your help is always valued. This is a list of volunteer opportunities that are typically available:
